Yes. If you let a property with gas appliances, the law says they must be checked every 12 months and you must give your tenants a copy of the record within 28 days of the check. We carry out the check and issue the certificate on the day.
Most boilers want to sit between 1 and 1.5 bar when the heating is off. If you keep having to top it up, water is escaping somewhere: a small leak on a radiator valve or pipe, a faulty pressure relief valve, or an expansion vessel that has lost its charge. Topping it up treats the symptom, so it's worth getting the cause found.
It is if your radiators are cold at the bottom, take ages to warm up, or the boiler is noisy. Those are the usual signs of sludge building up in the system. A power flush clears it out, and it's often done before a new boiler goes in so the new one isn't sat on dirty water from day one.
Usually, and it's normally the simplest and cheapest option. Moving it is possible but means new pipework and a new flue position, so we look at the job first and tell you what each option involves before you decide.
Open doors and windows, turn off the gas at the meter if you can, and don't use light switches or anything that could make a spark. Then ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 straight away. Once they've made it safe, we can find and fix the fault.
